Too often, people delay writing a will because they believe they are too young, or they think that their estate is too small. The truth is that anyone with children or anyone who owns any assets -whether of monetary or emotional value - should have their affairs in order upon the event of their unexpected demise. Although no one likes… Continue

Keisha Pickett Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hey Family: I hope that you are well. I had such a relaxed weekend. For the first time in a long time, I didn't go anywhere on Friday or Saturday night. I needed that time at home. I got a lot of fall cleaning done. My goodness, I cleared out so much unnecessary clutter and still have more to go. My little sisters and I just hung out and kicked it. I did hear that I missed a couple of great events. Congrats to my Sorors of the Clearwater Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as we… Continue

C.A. Antwerp and Brussels the Art of Living and Traveling

Recently I visited Belgium (Antwerp and Brussels) with a few side trips . This is an amazing country . Definitely highly recommended for business or leisure travel. The sights were breathtaking and wonderful. My first day started with coffee at the airport which I soon discovered is always served with a cookie or delicious chocolate. The Belgians like their coffee served in a china cup with saucer ……yes even in the airport. Grabbing a cup of coffee is suggested after you get done with border/cus… Continue

Dr. San Man Ambassador Poet what nigger really means

In the study of etymology the term “nigger” which translates into a fool, originates from the word “necrology”, the study of or list of the dead. Identifying the Black man as a nigger or a member of a dead society or culture subject’s the nigger to differential treatment in accordance with definition reaffirmed by the law, statistics, and practices. We at the Pure Poet’s Society defines the term nigger or a member of a dead culture as an individual who will not or does not take the necessary ste… Continue

Jackee Oliphant The Nail Salon Experience

Being "Black in the Bay" represents promotion of business, culture and relationshipships among the black community. And seeing that so many black women get their nails done, it is time to set standards as to how and where we get our nails done. I started my career as a professional Nail Specialist in Florida. I am a black female, but often I don't see the support of the black community when it comes to how and where they get their nails done. Most importantly, with who? About a couple of weeks a… Continue

Dr. San Man Ambassador Poet Saggin Is Niggas Spelled Backwards

Write the word saggin ' backwards......S-A-G-G-I-N........... N-I-G- G-A-S....It was the intent of slave owners to demoralize the field workers by forbidding them to wear a belt as they worked in the fields or at any other rigorous job. In addition, men in prison wore their pants low when they were 'spoken for'. The other reason their pants looked like that was they were not allowed to have belts because prisoners were likely to try to commit suicide. And, saggin' pants prevents you from running… Continue

Pat's Patch Designs Dreams Visions & Fantasies Open House – This past Saturday, June 20, 2009 12pm to 4pm

Our open house was quite a treat and success; there was a chance to see table scapes for weddings and events from Dreams Visions & Fantasies and pictures were added from the event to this site for your enjoyment. There was cake as fresh as can be with homemade butter cream frosting from Emma’s Cakes. The aroma of the following filled the air Rosemary chicken, Hawaiian meatballs, smashed potatoes; stir fry vegetables and zucchini bread, all of which was just as fresh and tasty for your pallet… Continue
